The Alzheimer’s Disease Education and Referral (ADEAR) Center
This website offers easy-to-read fact sheets on Alzheimer’s Disease in English and Spanish. It also posts news releases on research findings, and provides information and links to supports for caregivers. You can order or download free publications and search a clinical trials database and a literature database.

The National Center for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine
This is the federal government’s lead agency for scientific research on complementary and alternative medicine within the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The center conducts research, trains researchers, and provides a clearinghouse for information on treatments and therapies.

The National Institute of Health’s Health Information and Exercise Guide
This website provides advice on nutrition, balanced diets, and explains the benefits of exercise and physical activity. It also includes information on how to get started and how to check your progress.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Healthy Living
This section of the CDC’s website provides information and resources on health and prevention for all ages and groups. Each topic–for example aging, physical activity and exercise, and staying healthy–includes news on related reports, conferences, listservs, information, and additional resources.

The National Council on Aging’s Center for Health Aging 
This website provides information on health issues and identifies state and local programs that provide health promotion and disease prevention for older adults. These programs include the Administration on Aging funded evidence-based disease prevention programs.

The National Institute on Aging (NIA) Health Information
This website provides links to publications, clinical trials, public service ads, and health and aging organizations. You can browse by category for materials on a variety of topics including Alzheimer’s Disease, caregiving, Spanish language materials, and resources for professionals.


The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion
This website links to the USDA programs to improve the health and well-being of Americans by developing and promoting dietary guidance that links scientific research to consumers’ nutrition needs.

The Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Information Center
This website links to UDSA resources for information on healthy eating, nutritional challenges related to aging, food safety issues, home-delivered Meals on Wheels, and other assistance programs. It also provides links to organizations that focus on aging issues, including the Administration on Aging Elderly Nutrition Program.
